A Few More Free Tunes from Keener

I thought I’d go ahead and record a few more tunes today and make them available to you:

  • This is a tune I pieced together today as I was sitting around. It is a simple tune, so someone may have already invented it. So, if you know its real name, let me know and I’ll change its name accordingly. For now, I’m just calling it Peaceful.
  • What’d I Say, a guitar version of the Ray Charles classic.
  • Reed It, A collection of Jerry-Reed-type licks that I threw together and named after him.

My First Recording of Papa’s Knee

I love Jerry Reed’s recording of Papa’s Knee, to the point that it inspired me to do my own recording of it.

It’s been a while since I have played very much, but I pulled out my Limited Edition Alvarez flat-top guitar, got a $25 Logitech USB microphone for recording into my iMac, fired up GarageBand on the iMac, and set it for no special effects.

Here’s the recording:

Papa’s Knee

I hope you enjoy!

Welcome to Keener Music

I have been playing guitar off and on for over forty years, and thought it to be about time I shared some of it. So, this site makes several of my setting-around-at-home recordings available to you. These were originally made available on my Keener Living website, but I decided that the recordings needed a blog of their own.

All are done in a Jerry Reed, Chet Atkins style, which is the guitar style I most enjoy.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy playing them.
